SHAMROCK RANCH
World renowned as a fine trophy hunting ranch, The Shamrock Ranch is a true sportsman’s paradise. This magnificent 17,050 acre ranch is located in the breathtaking North Coast region of California.
RECREATION, FISH & WILDLIFE
The Shamrock Ranch enjoys one of the largest resident herd of these freely roaming Tule Elk. (Just a few of the resident bulls can be seen in the photo above.) The Tule Elk is a trophy for any big game hunter. Consistently, trophy size bulls and bucks are harvested each year. The Ranch participates in the Private Land Management Program which allows for longer seasons and the taking of Tule Elk.
Blacktail deer are also abundant throughout the Shamrock Ranch. It is not uncommon to see many bucks feeding together at dusk. The grassy hillsides with oaks and coni-fers, fed by lush springs, provide excellent habitat for these magnificent creatures. Trophy bucks are plentiful each year for the lucky hunter with managed tags.
Also seen on the ranch, roaming freely and in abundant numbers, are large flocks of wild turkeys, great herds oRussian wild boar, and dense coveys of both Mountain and California Quail.
CATTLE OPERATIONS
The Shamrock Ranch runs a profitable cattle operation, utilizing their fine cattle facilities, bountiful water and many pastures. This is augmented by abundant hay production here on the ranch, both with irrigated and non-irrigated fields. Currently the ranch carries a profitable herd of over 300 Angus mother cows.
VINEYARDS
Adding grace and beauty to the ranch, while also bringing in significant contracted income, are approximately 25 acres of vineyards. They are planted in Pinot Noir, Syrah and Zinfandel grapes. On one side, built overlooking the vineyards and shown below on the left, is a 2,100 sq. ft., 2+ bedroom, 3 bath home for the viticultural manager. From another direction, the vineyards are visible from the splendid main residence. It enjoys completely private views of the flowing, hillside vines.
